After ‘The Sandman’ Ends, See Destruction’s Actor in ‘House of the Dragon’ Season 3

The Sandman’s most intriguing character, Destruction is played by someone who will son join the Targaryen war in House of the Dragon’s upcoming season 3.
Despite having enough source material from Neil Gaiman’s vast collection of comic books, Netflix’s The Sandman is wrapping its story up in just a couple of days, prompting its fans to look out for the original comics.
The series’ finale comes as an especially disheartening outcome as the second season was the one to introduce some of the entire show’s most compelling characters – including Destruction aka The Prodigal, who becomes a major part of the sophomore season.
However, not that much time will pass until you see Destruction’s actor in House of the Dragon’s next season.
Barry Sloane Plays Destruction in ‘The Sandman’ Season 2
Introduced in the show’s second season, Destruction is portrayed by English actor Barry Sloane and is one of the seven Endless siblings whose absence from the central storyline has long remained the entire show’s biggest mystery.
Just like the rest of his family, Destruction embodies a specific aspect of human life, representing both destruction and creation; however, he soon grows sick of being responsible for bringing chaos into the world, which is why he eventually abandons his realm.
The character’s choice is mostly motivated by his desire to pursue knowledge and power rather than demolition of things.
When Destruction leaves his realm, his siblings, particularly Dream and Delirium, embark on a quest to find him on an isolated island.
Barry Sloane Will Also Play the Blacks’ Ally in ‘House of the Dragon’ Season 3
The actor’s Destruction might be going through his own inner war in The Sandman, but Sloane is yet to join an actual war between the Targaryens in House of the Dragon’s upcoming third season.
The actor joined the show’s leading cast back in April this year, now set to portray Ser Adrian Redfort, a knight from House Redfort and a member of Rhaenyra Targaryen's Queensguard.
On par with Sloane, Tom Cullen and Joplin Sibtain also signed up for HBO’s epic series as Ser Luthor Largent and Ser “Bold” Jon Roxton.
House of the Dragon’s season 3 is currently slated for a 2026 release.
When Will ‘The Sandman’ Finale Be Released?
