There’s a bunch of newcomers in Wednesday’s Nevermore Academy, and they might be getting even more attention in the second season’s upcoming volume 2.
It’s a new school year approaching in Nevermore Academy, which means Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday is back on track with more issues to resolve (and mysteries to solve).
Despite some major changes in the first season’s leading cast, Ortega isn’t the only one reprising her role in the second season of Tim Burton’s hit show, with Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, Emma Myers and more returning alongside Wednesday for more adventures.
However, the series now boasts of several more compelling characters, with one of them featuring a long-anticipated cameo, so here’s everyone you need to get to know better before Wednesday proceeds to its sophomore season’s Volume 2 in September.
10. The Kansas City Scalper (Haley Joel Osment)
The Sixth Sense’s actor, Osment has a brief role in Wednesday’s season 2 as The Kansas City Scalper, a serial killer that, according to Wednesday, she’s been obsessed with ever since she was 11.
In the new instalment’s first episode, Wednesday is trapped in the Scalper’s house full of dolls when Thing comes in to rescue her.
9. Dr. Rachael Fairburn (Thadiwe Newton)
Portrayed by Westworld’s Emmy winner Thadiwe Newton, Dr. Fairburn is the chief psychiatrist at Willow Hill Psychiatric Facility, seeking ways to treat outcasts like Tyler who is currently incarcerated there.
8. Slurp (Owen Painter)
Slurp is a reanimated body and currently one of few extremely supernatural creatures that connects to Wednesday and seemingly has something to do with Nevermore Academy’s dark past and most horrifying secrets.
7. Agnes DeMille (Evie Templeton)
Wednesday’s viewers meet Agnes in the second season’s first episode where she’s seen trying to get Wednesday’s autograph.
She’s a new student in Nevermore Academy and seems to idolize Jenna Ortega’s moody character.
6. Isadora Capri (Billie Piper)
Portrayed by Doctor Who’s star Billie Piper, Isadora Capri is the head of the music department in Nevermore who takes interest in both Wednesday and Enid, trying to help the former develop her music skills and instructing the latter as a fellow werewolf.
5. Judi (Heather Matarzzo)
Dr. Fairburn’s quirky assistant at Willow Hill Psychiatric Facility, Judi is a character to figure out since she’s clearly hiding something underneath her intentionally friendly attitude.
4. Rosaline Rotwood (Lady Gaga)
Though she’s yet to be introduced in Volume 2, Lady Gaga’s Rosaline Rotwood is believed to be a new Nevermore teacher who also has some secrets to keep from Wednesday.
3. Professor Orloff (Christopher Lloyd)
Original Uncle Fester in 1990’s Addams Family, this time Lloyd takes on the role of Professor Orloff, Nevermore’s long-standing and grumpy teacher who spends his time trying to catch troublemakers in the school’s cold halls.
2. Grandmama Hester Frump (Joanna Lumley)
The Addams family is getting bigger with the arrival of Grandmama Hester Frump, Morticia’s ruling mother and the big boss at Frump Mortuaries, one of the most successful companies in the country.
-
Principal Dort (Steve Buscemi)
Dressed in all purple, Buscemi’s Principal Barry Dort shows up in the first moments of the second season’s first episode, encouraging Wednesday to use her popularity for Nevermore’s good. However, he does seem sketchy: we will see if “good” is the word we should have used.
