George Martin’s TV franchise won’t be limited by Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon as more spinoffs are coming. Here’s a breakdown of all the Game of Thrones sequels and prequels that are currently in the works.

Game of Thrones might have gone off the screen with some rotten tomatoes prepared for its two last seasons, but the legacy it’s built before paved the way for much more Westeros-y content than many expected.

The series has already had a prequel show House of the Dragon being around for two seasons so far, with one more spinoff, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, arriving on streaming presumably this year.

Still, Game of Thrones’ universe has way more stories to tell, and you might have never realised there were in fact so many of those.

5 More Spinoff Shows Are Currently in Production

Apart from House of the Dragon and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, there’s much more Game of Thrones’ fans can expect to see on the screens in the upcoming couple of years.

First comes Nymeria: 10,000 Ships, and though not much has been said about this Moses-inspired show so far, it’s been revealed that the series will focus on Nymeria, a warrior-queen and an ancestor of House Martell.

At the same time, HBO also picked up Aegon’s Conquest, a spinoff that will follow Aegon I Targaryen and, well, his conquest of Westeros.

Probably the next one to come is The Golden Empire, an animated series taking a closer look at the Golden Empire of Yi Ti, located in the far east of Essos.

The following spinoff will likely get some attention from House of the Dragon’s fans who already know what Lord Corlys Velaryon is all about; the show will follow the character’s sea adventures that eventually brought House Velaryon all its wealth.

Lastly, HBO is up to yet another animated series that so far doesn’t have a title or even description.

Did HBO Cancel Any Game of Thrones Spinoffs?

Yes, and there were quite many of those.

The biggest turmoil so far caused Snow, a spinoff series about Kit Harington’s Jon Snow and his life after the events of the original show.

Then there was Bloodmoon, the first ever Game of Thrones series that was supposed to go through the events of the Long Night, but was cancelled right after the pilot episode aired.

On the list, there’s also Doom of Valyria depicting a chain of volcanic eruptions that destroyed the thriving city mentioned repeatedly throughout Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon.

Finally, one more spinoff shelved by HBO was Flea Bottom, taking its name from King’s Landing’s poorest slum district that was also featured in Game of Thrones.
