These shows may not have Richie's sense of humor, but they are no less high-octane.

Not everyone believed in it, and the critical reviews before the official release were not unambiguously positive, but the name of the king of crime action and British humor, Guy Ritchie, has done its job. The British filmmaker has teamed up with Netflix to create a new series, a spin-off of the 2019 hit film The Gentlemen... with the same title, The Gentlemen.

Ritchie's new project has indeed garnered no small amount of hype, and in the week of its release on March 7, the series, starring Theo James, made its way into the Top 10 most-watched English-language shows on Netflix worldwide. A week later, at the time of this writing, The Gentlemen continues to hold the top spot in most countries around the world.

But alas, this is Netflix, so you've probably already binge-watched The Gentlemen and maybe even the entire Guy Ritchie filmography. In which case, we suggest you turn your attention to other equally fascinating series available on Netflix. After all, starting with some shows like Narcos, Suburra, and Ozark, the streaming service has managed to deliver more than a few legendary projects in the crime drama genre.

Original series or not, here are three great crime dramas on Netflix that you should definitely check out after watching The Gentlemen.

3. Peaky Blinders

Premiere Date (Netflix): September 30, 2014

Number of Seasons: 6

IMDb Rating: 8.8/10

Set from the end of the First World War to the 1930s, this cult crime drama narrates the story of one of the most ruthless street gangs of its time, Birmingham's Peaky Blinders, who sewed blades into their stylish flat caps. The magnetic role of gang leader Thomas Shelby marked a major milestone in Cillian Murphy 's career.

By the way, maybe the story is not finished yet, because Steven Knight has announced his intention to continue the series as a feature film. So if you are in love with the sordid atmosphere of British crime, Peaky Blinders is definitely the show for you.

2. Top Boy

Premiere Date (Netflix): September 13, 2019

Number of Seasons: 5

IMDb Rating: 8.4/10

On September 7, 2023, Netflix released the final season of Top Boy, a series co-executive produced by Drake. Like The Gentlemen, Top Boy immerses viewers in the underbelly of the British drug trade, but unlike Ritchie's oeuvre, with his humor and love of action sequences, this series is primarily a drama about the experiences of marginalized groups in East London and the drug trade that affects the communities.

The plot follows two friends and drug dealers, Sully and Dushane, on their journey to build a criminal empire in London's Summerhouse.

1. Furies

Premiere Date (Netflix): March 1, 2024

Number of Seasons: 1

IMDb Rating: 6.2/10

What draws us to Guy Ritchie's movies (and now TV series) in the first place is the witty dialogue. But let's face it, there are few people who aren't fascinated by the action scenes in his projects. And that's exactly what this latest addition to Netflix's library of French series is good for. Furies is a fast-paced French crime action series that follows the unlikely union of two women as they take on the criminal underbelly of Paris: Lyna (Lina El Arabi), who is avenging her father's murder, and Selma (Marina Foïs), the 'Sheriff of the Paris Mafia' who is looking for a successor.

Yes, if your reading conjures up associations more akin to John Wick, then that's something we're willing to support, because the parallels do indeed follow. Revenge-driven vigilante? Check. 'The Table' equivalent? Check! Standing up to an entire criminal underworld with its own centuries-old traditions and hierarchies? Also check!
