A nearly perfect Rotten Tomatoes score is what Andor’s new season 2 has kicked off with, and fans are there to fully believe it. Here’s why everyone calls it the best Star Wars show ever.

Andor, a beloved TV show with Diego Luna in the leading role, is back with its second season, which will become its final chord.

A prequel to 2016’s Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Andor sees its events unfolding five years prior to what the movie witnesses, following Cassian Andor who becomes a major figure in a massive revolution started by the Rebel Alliance against the Galactic Empire.

The show’s new season has been teased as nothing short of a masterpiece ahead of the premiere on April 22, and this time it does seem like Andor’s fans are in full harmony with critics.

Well, it’s now pretty clear that critics weren’t lying — Andor’s second season has just debuted with an impressive critical score of 99% based on around 70 reviews on Rotten Tomatoes; the audience score has so far reached 84%.

To compare, the show’s season 1 was slightly less engaging for critics and more compelling for viewers, currently holding 96% and 87% of positive reviews respectively.

Andor’s new record might be due to the fact that the entire second season was given to critics in advance, which is why the nearly perfect score does reflect their opinion on the entire 12-episode run.

What Is Andor Season 2 So Good

There are many aspects of the show’s new installment that contribute to its new label as one of the best TV seasons of all time.

“This second season doesn’t just cement the show’s standing as the best Star Wars project ever made. It’s also the rare spinoff that deepens the best parts of the franchise around it”, Vulture’s Nicholas Quah wrote.

“Not all the Star Wars spin-offs have justified their existence, but Andor does that and so much more. By the time it ends, it has not only delivered in spades, it has made the entire web of stories feel more coherent, rounded and real”, The Age’s Karl Quinn added.

“A masterclass in writing, direction, cinematography and much more. A show that truly respects the intelligent viewer and leaves casuals at the door. (as seen by the casuals in the review section here). Truly magnificent!”, a user also commented on Rotten Tomatoes.

“Andor has graduated from comparison to other Star Wars shows and movies. It’s in an entirely different league and is now competing against other all time legendary pieces of media. Season 2 cements it as 1 of the greatest seasons in television history”, Michael C put in.
