Aubrey Plaza Got Everyone Confused About The Upcoming MCU Series
Aubrey Plaza shared a video from the set of Agatha: Coven of Chaos and draw more attention to the upcoming show.
A spinoff series called Agatha: Coven of Chaos, stemming from WandaVision, is set to debut on Disney Plus in 2024, featuring a total of nine episodes.
Disney Plus' original series within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, WandaVision, debuted in early 2021. It introduced various notable MCU firsts, such as Kathryn Hahn as Agatha Harkness.
Additionally, it brought the Darkhold, an ancient and malevolent book of magic, into the MCU for the first time.
It's worth mentioning that the Darkhold had appeared before in the Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Marvel's Runaways series, which have questionable canonicity in relation to the MCU.
Subsequently, the Darkhold played a significant role in the 2022 MCU film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which can be seen as a continuation of the events in WandaVision.
Aubrey Plaza, confirmed as part of the cast, posted a video on her Instagram stories showcasing what appears to be a director's chair on set.
Fans were left puzzled as the chair featured a title logo, The Darkhold Diaries, which differed in both style and name from the actual show's logo, sparking confusion.
However, it is clearly a working title that references another Disney's 2001 project — The Princess Diaries.
It appears that referencing other projects, and not only Disney's, becomes the show's special feature. In January, a director's chair was captured in a previous set photo, displaying the logo of a show titled Agatha of Westview.
Notably, the font used for the logo was reminiscent of HBO's Mare of Easttown.
Aubrey Plaza's role wasn't officially revealed, but many people suggest she will portray one of the witches, and it is quite evident we are going to see a bunch of them.
Plot details for Agatha: Coven of Chaos haven't been revealed by Marvel Studios. However, in the previous encounter, Agatha was defeated by Scarlet Witch and subsequently found herself trapped as Agnes.
It is anticipated that the show will unveil how Agatha breaks free, and subsequently, we will be taken on a thrilling journey alongside her, witnessing various captivating escapades.
Fans can't wait to see Plaza in the MCU, also hoping that Agatha: Coven of Chaos will expand the mystical side of the MCU.
