We are officially back to the 2000s and we love it.

Netflix may release new premieres all it wants, but it looks like good old classics simply don't care. Or maybe it's about the fans who are tired of endless remakes and reboots so they turn to something they know won't let them down.

In today's issue of "great 2000s stuff that will never let you down" is Dexter — a serial killer crime drama that aired on Showtime from 2006 to 2013. The story of forensic technician Dexter Morgan who happens to lead a second life as a serial killer is, well, killing it in today's global top chart — again.

At the time of writing, Dexter sits comfortably on #8 in Netflix's global top. For comparison there: a very new Netflix crime flick Ripley, led by Andrew Scott, is only #7, and we doubt Dexter won't necessarily dethrone it either.

Dexter Is Netflix's Most Recent Addition

In fact, the reason for a sudden rise in popularity is pretty simple. All seasons of Dexter became available on Netflix on March 31 of 2024, albeit only in certain regions.

If you are an old-time Dexter fan or just curious to see what's the fuss about, you can watch Dexter on Netflix if you're from Europe, Canada, Brazil, the United Kingdom, Japan, and some other selected regions.

Is Dexter Available on Netflix in the US?

Unfortunately, the United States has become a painful exception from the lucky list, so no, you won't be able to stream the 2000s classic on Netflix there.

However, if you don't feel like missing out on the Dexter Renaissance, you can tune in to Paramount+ — all seasons of Dexter are available to watch there in the US. Besides, Dexter: New Blood is also there for you to binge on the platform.

If you don't have a Paramount+ subscription, you might want to consider acquiring it or use VPN to change your region and access Netflix content available in any country of your choice.
