Better Call Saul: how many episodes in season 6, and how many total? The spinoff beat Breaking Bad by exactly one
The episode count is the easy part; the deadline for watching all of it on Netflix is the part nobody's talking about.
Season 6 of Better Call Saul has 13 episodes, three more than any other season of the show. That brings the series to 63 episodes total. Breaking Bad ran for 62. Here's how it shakes out:
- Better Call Saul: 10 episodes each in seasons 1 through 5 (2015 to 2020), plus 13 in season 6 (2022). Total: 63.
- Breaking Bad: 7 episodes in season 1 (2008), 13 each in seasons 2 through 4, and 16 in season 5 (2012 to 2013). Total: 62.
El Camino, the 2019 Jesse Pinkman movie, doesn't count toward either.
Why season 6 got longer
AMC ordered the final season at 13 episodes when it renewed the show in January 2020, and then split it in two, the same move the network made with Breaking Bad's final season. Part 1, seven episodes, aired from April 18 to May 23, 2022. Part 2, six episodes, ran from July 11 to August 15, 2022, and it's the stretch where the show's timeline finally catches up with Breaking Bad's, cameos included. The final season also arrived later than planned: production stopped in July 2021 after Bob Odenkirk had a heart attack on set, and he returned to finish it.
The part you actually need to know
Better Call Saul is streaming on Netflix, which is where most people will watch it. But according to What's on Netflix, the license is set to expire on April 18, 2027, both in the US and internationally. That date could still change if Netflix and Sony Pictures Television renew the deal. Nobody has announced a renewal.

If you're starting from scratch, the math is friendly enough. Sixty-three episodes at one a night takes about two months, which gets you to the finale with time to spare. Most episodes run around 45 minutes to an hour, so budget roughly 50 hours in total.
Better Call Saul holds the Emmy record for the most nominations without a single win: 53.
The Emmy thing
Breaking Bad won 16 Emmys, including Best Drama twice. Better Call Saul's 53 nominations included two supporting actress nods for Rhea Seehorn as Kim Wexler, in 2022 and 2023. She lost both times.

Seehorn finally won on September 14, 2026, for lead actress in a drama, for Vince Gilligan's Apple TV series Pluribus, which took home six Emmys in total, including writing for Gilligan. She used her speech to thank him directly:
"Thank you, Vince Gilligan, for not just giving me the role of a lifetime."
