The Big Brother 28 finale crowns a winner tonight: Taylor vs Devens is the showdown everyone expects
Two finalists have spent all week planning to cut each other — and the whole season now comes down to one live competition and a jury with opinions.
Big Brother 28 ends tonight, with the live finale on CBS deciding who takes the $750,000 — and the final three could not be more neatly arranged for drama. Taylor Brown, Rick Devens, and Drew Campbell are the last ones standing after Drew cast the only vote of the week to evict Dee Valladares, finally splitting the two Survivor icons after a season of everyone else being too scared to try. One recapper's verdict on his timing: he
"waited until the last possible vote to prove that waiting was strategy rather than fear."
With Dee — an actual Survivor champion — in the jury house, the endgame crystallized fast, and the feeds have already written tonight's script.
The state of play going into the live show
- Part 1 of the final HOH went to Taylor, continuing her late-season surge — this is the same player who survived the Egyptian Eviction as a replacement nominee, then won the Final 4 HOH hours later.
- Part 2 went to Devens, the Survivor fan favorite who has steamrolled competitions since the Pharaoh's Curse week and personally broke Melody's artifact to send her out.
- Part 3 plays out live tonight, Taylor against Devens, winner-take-the-wheel. Per the spoiler roundups, the winner "automatically advances to the final two, and gets to decide who they want to sit next to at the end."
The showdown that probably isn't a showdown
Here's the wrinkle the casual Wednesday-night viewer won't see coming: Taylor vs Devens is the matchup everyone expects at the end — and the feeds say neither of them wants it. Taylor has signaled she'd take Drew to the final two. Devens has signaled he'd take Drew to the final two. Which makes tonight's Part 3 the real final: the head-to-head everyone wanted, except the loser gets third place and a jury seat instead of a chance to argue their case.
And it makes Drew — who lost both HOH rounds — weirdly safe. The man's path to the end is losing gracefully next to people who consider him beatable, a résumé that has won this show before.
The jury waiting for them includes Barrett, Yash, Melody, and a freshly seated Dee, several of whom left with grievances attached. Whether they reward Devens' comp-crushing, Taylor's survival act, or Drew's one perfectly timed knife will be settled tonight — along with $75,000 for the runner-up and America's Favorite Houseguest. The 90-minute finale airs live tonight at 8/7c on CBS — streaming live for Paramount+ Premium subscribers — with the season wrapped by bedtime.
