After all the recent DCU drama fans surely deserve some good news.

DC fans have been eagerly awaiting the debut of the DC Studios' upcoming Blue Beetle, set to hit theaters on August 18, 2023. After recently wrapping production in July 2022 and starring Xolo Maridueña, George Lopez, Bruna Marquezine, Belissa Escobedo, Harvey Guillen, and Susan Sarandon, the upcoming film apparently went through some test screening process, and the results were promising.

On Sunday, the Big Screen Leaks Twitter page answered two questions about reactions to a test screening of the movie.

Answering a fan's question about the action sequences, the account responded that were handled "extremely well. It's lots of hand-to-hand combat action sequences and they sound super entertaining"

In response to another fan's question about which actors' performances stood out to test audiences, the account named Xolo Maridueña and George Lopez.

This news has sent fans of the DCU into a frenzy of excitement – figures, considering just how much they had to go through lately. Long-time fans of the animated show Young Justice, which featured a similar Blue Beetle origin story, are thrilled to see a similar concept coming to life in a feature-length film. Additionally, the fact that Xolo Maridueña was not required to audition for his role as Jaime Reyes has fans expecting an amazing performance.

So far, after several test screenings, we know that there aren't going to be cameos in Blue Beetle. None of the current DCU superhero roster members make an appearance, although some are mentioned. Looks like Blue Beetle will be set in post-Flash universe, positioned as a stand-alone story with a few superficial tie-ins to DCU.
