'The Hunger Games' 13 Years Later: Where Is the OG Cast Now?

Here's what the cast of The Hunger Games is doing today, more than a decade after the movie's release.
13 years have passed since the release of the first movies in The Hunger Games saga. Not only has the franchise become a global cinematic phenomenon, but also defined the careers of a generation of young actors.
What happened to the stars of the legendary franchise after the story of the uprising against the Capitol ended?
1. Jennifer Lawrence – Katniss Everdeen
It was The Hunger Games that made Jennifer Lawrence a real star. Before that, she played Mystique in X-Men: First Class, but her charisma was largely hidden under makeup.
The role of Katniss Everdeen opened the door to big cinema for her. After The Hunger Games ended, Lawrence's career only went uphill.
She has starred in auteur films, such as Darren Aronofsky's mother!, new drama Die, My Love, as well as high-budget movies, such as Passengers.
2. Josh Hutcherson – Peeta Mellark
Josh Hutcherson was a highly sought-after young actor during his childhood. Outside of The Hunger Games, he is best known for his role in Bridge to Terabithia.
After starring in The Hunger Games, he appeared in James Franco's The Disaster Artist and starred in the TV series Future Man, for which he also served as a producer.
His most successful project in recent years is the adaptation of the video game Five Nights at Freddy's. A sequel is already in the works and will be released on December 5, 2025.
3. Liam Hemsworth – Gale Hawthorne
Liam Hemsworth was in The Hunger Games from start to finish as Gale Hawthorne was one of the key characters.
However, he did not become a sought-after Hollywood actor. Even the sequel to the hit Independence Day, subtitled Resurgence, in which he replaced Will Smith, did not help.
His latest works include the romantic comedy Lonely Planet, in which he acted alongside Laura Dern, as well as the upcoming fourth season of The Witcher, in which he replaced Henry Cavill as the lead.
4. Woody Harrelson – Haymitch Abernathy
After appearing in The Hunger Games franchise, one of the greatest actors of our time continued to star in a variety of projects, ranging from big-budget blockbusters like Venom: Let There Be Carnage, to TV masterpieces like True Detective.
His latest projects include the satirical black comedy Triangle of Sadness, the survival thriller Last Breath, and the romantic drama Fly Me to the Moon.
5. Elizabeth Banks – Effie Trinket
After playing Effie Trinket in The Hunger Games, Elizabeth Banks started her directing career. The sequel to Pitch Perfect was a commercial hit, though the remake of Charlie's Angels, in which her Hunger Games co-star Sam Claflin starred, was not.
The actress's latest projects include the thriller Skincare and the medical drama A Mistake.
6. Willow Shields – Primrose Everdeen
The actress who played Katniss Everdeen's younger sister in The Hunger Games didn't have any major roles since then.
However, Shields was the star of the 20th season of Dancing with the Stars, which led to her getting a key role in the figure skating series Spinning Out.
7. Sam Claflin – Finnick Odair
Before playing Finnick in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Sam Claflin starred in several big-budget movies. He played Philip Swift in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides and the prince in Snow White and the Huntsman.
After appearing in three Hunger Games films, Claflin had several notable roles: an aristocrat in The Riot Club, a paralyzed man in Me Before You, and a yachtsman in the middle of a raging ocean in Adrift.
Claflin's most recent movies include the horror film Bagman and the drama The One Note Man.
