People are seriously disappointed by the way the writers treat Marisa Ramirez's character.

CBS' hit crime show has been going strong for nearly 13 years, and viewers keep coming back to the New York City cop family saga every season, but that doesn't mean the show has never had its problems.

Like any other procedural drama, Blue Bloods can boast a fairly extensive cast of characters, each requiring their share of screen time. Not surprisingly, the show's writers may find it difficult to provide each character with a well-thought-out storyline and not make them look like props rather than human beings.

And some fans think that's exactly what happened to Maria Baez.

According to some, Baez brings nothing to the show as Danny's partner, letting him do all the work.

Fans are angry about the fact that Baez appears to be a far less capable detective than Danny, who is always the one asking smart questions, standing in the line of fire. While Baez is just following him, stating the obvious and having his back.

Moreover, Danny himself seems to acknowledge this, treating her like a lady rather than his partner.

Fans are fed up with that and demand that the writers give Baez more screen time and a better character arc, because this one clearly isn't working out. Many viewers remember Danny's previous partner from the first two seasons, Jackie, who was much more active in investigations and felt like a real person, not an extra whose whole purpose is to make Danny look good.

Of course, nothing is absolute, and Baez has her share of fans who find her strong character and ability to help others very commendable. Even so, everyone is convinced that with enough attention from the writers, Maria Baez can develop into one of the most interesting characters in the Blue Bloods series.
