Brilliant Severance Fan Theory Proves Helena Is Not the Ultimate Villain We Thought She Was

Does she have ANY power in Lumon?
As we know from the first season, Helly R is Helena Eagan, the daughter of the CEO of the company, Jame Eagan. The woman underwent the severance process as a stunt to increase public loyalty to the process.
Helena is usually contrasted with Helly: one embodies Lumon, the other hates it; one is reserved, the other is impulsive and emotional; one treats innies as subhuman, the other is an innie herself.
Helena Is Not a Leader, She Is a Hostage
But what if Helly and Helena have more in common than meets the eye? They may both hate Lumon, and they may both want to burn the company to the ground.
As Reddit user funkycomma suggests, Helena is not the queen of an evil corporation, but rather a hostage of her position. And if you look closely at Helena's life, you will see that she actually has almost no power in the company.
Natalie and Harmony Treat Helena With Almost Disdain
This is evident in Helena's interactions with Natalie, who seems to be a kind of secretary, a walking telephone receiver with the mysterious The Board on the other end. However, Natalie allows herself to criticize Helena's drinking habits and then introduces the daughter of the company's CEO to Angelo Arteta.
It is strange that the rightful heir is not familiar with the key figures associated with the procedure of severance and its propaganda.
A similar, almost dismissive attitude toward Helena is shown by Harmony Cobel, who openly criticizes the fact that Helena is simply a rich heiress who has achieved nothing on her own, and wonders if her father will attend the meeting – as if Helena's presence is insignificant.
Helena Can't Even Talk to Her Own Father
Most importantly, Helena can't even talk to her father directly – Drummond and Natalie give him the information they deem necessary, which makes Helena's position in the company even lower than theirs.
It is quite possible that Helena is indeed being prepared, as many fans believe, to become a kind of vessel for Kier's consciousness, or the collective consciousness of all the Eagans, and that is why they treat her as expendable.
Helena clearly shows a lack of expression of bright emotions – most of the time she acts like a robot who has to do a task. The only exception was the scene where Helena watches a video of Helly and Mark kissing – only then did we see some softness in her eyes and even a hint of her cold shell cracking.
If Helly's Traits Manifest in Helena, It Will Have Bad Consequences for Lumon
Unlike Cobel, Helena, as the heir of Jame Eagan, cannot escape or leave Lumon – she was raised for a specific purpose that she must fulfill.
Given Helly's emotionality and rebelliousness, as well as the comments of actress Britt Lower herself that innie and outie are not different people, but rather the same person with slightly different settings, it can be assumed that Helena will eventually betray her loyalty to Lumon and the Eagan family.
