Apparently, foreshadowing is not his best skill…

Summary:

  • The Twilight Saga ended up being a major cultural phenomenon with a huge following.
  • Scott Eastwood could have been a part of the franchise if not for his abrupt opinion about its quality.
  • The actor later admitted that he regretted bombing the audition.

If we only knew some things in advance, we would definitely make the right decisions. But not everyone has Alice Cullen’s abilities to predict the future and to know, for example, whether the movie will be a flop or one of the biggest franchises in the industry.

That’s why, many years after even the last Twilight movie was already released, people who could have been a part of it admit publicly that they in some way regret the fact that they didn’t see the huge success coming for Twilight.

For example, did you know that Clint Eastwood's son Scott Eastwood could have been your Edward instead of Robert Pattinson? Yes, it's almost impossible to imagine anyone else playing the role now, but if Eastwood had tried a little harder during the audition process, things could have turned out differently.

In the interview with Variety, the actor admitted he thought that even being on the audition was a stupid idea as he had no belief in the movie whatsoever. He worked half-ass to just bomb the audition and went home.

Now that the first film had turned into a full 5-movie franchise he the actor appears to be biting his elbows. Especially, since he admitted being a little jealous that “Robert Pattinson has made a quadrillion dollars” being Edward.

Well, “quadrillion” is not the right number, but Pattinson did get quite enough for playing the dreamy vampire in the drama, revolving around his character and the female lead, Bella Swan, a naive teenage girl who fell in love with him.

Pattinson reportedly took home a cool $2.5 million in salary and bonuses for the first Twilight movie. But a big raise followed after the second film... So he got a total of about $12 million.

The first Twilight movie became a box office hit with over $407 million grossed against its $37 million budget. And later spawned four sequels that would bring in a total of $3.346 billion…

Had Eastwood imagined that the movie he barely auditioned would be such a success, he would definitely try harder.

All Twilight movies are available to stream on Hulu.
