Don’t be surprised to see new faces thrown into the mix.

One of the fun things about soaps is that they're always changing. It's almost impossible to get bored with so many characters coming in and out of the show, getting married, having kids, and growing up to continue the never-ending cycle. Days of Our Lives is no exception.

In fact, the soap is ready to surprise fans with a double birthday celebration by aging two characters into their teens. Both Holly, the daughter of Nicole Walker and the late Daniel Jonas, and Tate, the son of Brady Black and Theresa Donovan, are ready to enter their sweet 16 and show off new faces this Libra season.

According to Soap Opera Digest, Holly will be portrayed by Ashley Puzemis and Jamie Martin Mann will join the cast as Tate. As excited as viewers are to meet new actors and see what the future holds for both of them, some believe the writers are rushing things with these time jumps.

While it's not uncommon for the genre to speed through the pre-teen years and into high school, since that's where most people's real-life drama begins, Holly and Tate are still too precious for the audience to see them as almost adults.

What must be comforting for the fans to know is that the characters are in good hands. Though both actors are early in their careers, Ashley Puzemis has experience working on Nickelodeon's Danger Force, while Jamie Martin Mann has appeared in 10 episodes of Netflix 's Country Comfort as the recurring character Brody.

The actor is also known to have a talent for singing, so he may bring more tunes to the soap. Who knows, maybe Tate will find his passion for music and pursue it as a career one day.

Again, just like in real life, the fandom is not quite ready to let their children enter the next phase of their lives. However, there is no turning back from now on, as both characters are set to appear as teenagers the week of October 9th.

Be sure to tune in for the upcoming episodes of Days of Our Lives, which will stream exclusively on Peacock.
