What will that mean for Nicole?

Summary:

  • Arianne Zucker is an American actress best known for her role on the soap opera Days of Our Lives.
  • According to TMZ, Zucker filed a harassment lawsuit against Corday Productions Inc., which runs the show, Corday and Alarr.
  • Now that the actress is out, fans are wondering how this will affect her character, Nicole Walker, and all of her storylines.

Back in the summer of 2023, when the entire entertainment industry was rocked by the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, the soap world suffered just as much.

Even though all the running soaps had to cross the strikers' lines and hire temporary writers to keep shooting, that wasn't the worst news to come out of them. Viewers, as well as many other creatives in the industry, were shocked to learn of Days of Our Lives' previously carefully concealed behind-the-scenes drama.

The cast's allegations against one of its executive producers, Albert Alarr, led the network to part ways with him in August. But that wasn't enough for Arianne Zucker, one of the leading voices against Alarr. Now the battle will continue in the courts.

What Happened To Arianne Zucker on Days of Our Lives?

According to the TMZ report, the actress is suing Corday Productions Inc., which runs Days of Our Lives, Ken Corday and Albert Alarr for harassment, discrimination, negligent hiring, negligent supervision, retaliation and wrongful termination.

A spokesperson for Corday Productions, however, denies the allegations and claims that the actress was offered a contract extension with increased pay, but rejected the terms:

“Complaints about Mr. Alarr's on-set behavior were promptly investigated. Corday Productions fully cooperated with the impartial investigation and subsequently terminated Mr. Alarr,” the statement concluded.

While the details of what happened and who's right in this twisted conflict will now be up to the courts, fans are wondering what Zucker's departure means for the show in the grand scheme of things.

Considering how important the actress' character is to several ongoing storylines, it's unlikely she'll be written off.

However, the recast could create even more controversy and some backlash against the producers, as Arianne Zucker was the one who created the role in 1998 and portrayed her all the way through. Saying goodbye after such a long journey was never going to be easy, especially in the midst of an active conflict.
