DC sure did face a lot of controversy surrounding the actors they cast in the films.

The very loud and disastrous scandal was caused by one of the stars of Aquaman, and fans were quick to state that they will boycott the movie if Amber Heard 's Mera is not replaced with another actress. Right now, everyone's attention is glued to Ezra Miller and whether or not they are being replaced as Flash after a controversy.

Via The Hollywood Reporter's recent report, we learned that the script for The Flash 2 has already been written with Miller's Flash in mind. With all the controversy and troubles surrounding the first Flash film, it is hard to imagine the continuation of the story and fans being ok with it. That being said, the studio will greenlight the script only if the first Flash pays off.

Since March 2022 Ezra Miller has been making headlines. In March they were arrested twice in Hawaii for disorderly conduct and harassment and then second-degree assault. After that in June, they got a temporary protective order requesting they be kept away from a minor. Another scandalous moment from 2020 resurfaced, in a video, it appears that Miller is choking a fan. All of this made Ezra's participation in the DC comics-based film quite unwanted by the fans, who were quick to discuss a possible boycott of the delayed Flash film if the actor is not recast.

But the actor came forward and apologized in a statement to Variety issued by their representative. Here is what the actor had to say:

"Having recently gone through a time of intense crisis, I now understand that I am suffering complex mental health issues and have begun ongoing treatment. I want to apologize to everyone that I have alarmed and upset with my past behavior. I am committed to doing the necessary work to get back to a healthy, safe, and productive stage in my life."

Considering the fact that the actor released an apology statement and reportedly filmed new scenes for The Flash earlier this month, Warner Bros. might actually continue Ezra Miller's Flash. Whether or not this decision will be made is quite heavily dependent on the DCEU fans and their support of the upcoming movie.
