Some of these have appeared in major sci-fi franchises over the years.

Resident Alien has a good mix of top talent and fresh faces from the acting world. The premise of an alien coming to Earth with the intention of destroying humanity, but taking on the role of a local doctor and gradually developing empathy, offers almost endless opportunities for the kind of lighthearted scenarios the show has become known for.

But have you seen these six sci-fi cameos on the show?

6. Nicola Correia-Damude

Now a series regular on Law & Order: Criminal Intent as Lucy Da Silva, Correia-Damude has also starred in The Boys on Amazon Prime.

One of her first roles was in an episode of Stargate SG-1 in 2005, and she has also appeared in the supernatural dramas Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments and October Faction in a career spanning nearly 20 years.

In Resident Alien, she plays Detective Lena Torres, who is always on hand to help the local sheriff's department – even if they don't always appreciate her assistance.

5. Enver Gjokaj

Gjokaj's first sci-fi role came when he was cast as Victor in Dollhouse, which ran for two seasons from 2009-2010.

He was then cast as "Young Cop" in the 2012 film The Avengers. Since then, he's played Daniel Sousa in Agent Carter and Agents of SHIELD. In 2019, he appeared in another sci-fi film, 3022.

He now has a starring role as the gray alien Clark Evans in Invasion, in addition to his recurring role as Joseph Rainier, who has appeared in 6 episodes of Resident Alien to date.

4. Terry O'Quinn

You may not know the name, but you know the face. Terry O'Quinn's acting career has spanned five decades and seen him land roles in hit shows like Tales of the Unexpected and Star Trek: Next Generation as well as the 1998 film The X-Files.

He's perhaps best known for playing John Locke on Lost from 2004-2010, but also appeared as the older version of Peter Bach in Resident Alien. In the series, Bach witnessed the abduction of his pregnant wife before being implanted with an alien tracker by Grey aliens.

3. George Takei

A legend of the sci-fi genre, George Takei played Lieutenant Sulu in the original Star Trek series and appeared in the first five films of the franchise, despite a strained relationship with William Shatner.

Takei was also the first Star Trek star to appear in Star Wars, appearing in an episode of the animated series Clone Wars. He voices the gray alien who communicates with Harry in Resident Alien.

2. Linda Hamilton

Best known for her role as Srah Connor in the Terminator franchise, Linda Hamilton's filmography dates back to 1979 and includes roles in Children of the Corn, Black Moon Rising and the animated series Buzz Lightyear of Star Command.

She will appear in the upcoming film Osiris and season 5 of Stranger Things. She has a recurring role as General McCallister in Resident Alien, who was the original main antagonist of the show.

1. Nathan Fillion

Fillion had a starring role as Mal Reynolds in 2002's Firefly – where he appeared alongside Alan Tudyk, who played Wash. He's also appeared in numerous MCU and DCEU shows as well as web series and video games.

He's had some challenging roles throughout his career, but perhaps none quite like 42, an ill-tempered octopus who communicates regularly with Harry (played by Tudyk).

More recently, he's appeared in several animated series, and he voices Green Lantern in the animated Superman movie due out in 2025.
