News of the Community movie has sent the internet into a buzz.

The last season of the Community was an abrupt end to a beloved series, which left a bad taste in the mouths of many a fan. The show was canceled by NBC due to low ratings. The sixth and final season aired on Yahoo! Screen, and that was it.

However, we have recently received confirmation that there's a movie in the works about the show which would allow the fans to fill that Community-shaped hole in their lives. It seems the "six seasons and a movie" line by Abed Nadir has finally manifested. While details are sparse, many of the fan-favorite characters are expected to be returning.

Among the returning actors confirmed to appear, we have John McHale, Alison Brie, Pudi, Jim Rash, Gillian Jacobs, and Ken Jeong. Donald Glover and Yvette Nicole Brown are still in talks, but we're betting that they will reprise their roles too. One confirmation that has made waves is that Keith David is returning too.

Keith David played Elroy Patashnik, a disgraced scientist-turned-Greendale IT Boss.

In an interview, he said, "As far as I know, when it happens, I'll be there." He went on further to say, "I liked Elroy because he was smart but reclusive, and there are a lot of those kinds of people in the world, whose names you don't necessarily know but whose work has made a difference in every one of our lives. That's what I like about him."

The character debuted in the second episode of the show's sixth season, titled "Lawnmower Maintenance and Postnatal Care." He is shown to be a washed-up inventor who got tired of sitting on his laurels and is now reinventing himself. Considering how open the character arc is, there are so many ways his story can go further. The sky is the limit.

Elroy's last appearance on the show was during the 13th episode of the sixth season (ominous). He left Greendale and accepted a job at LinkedIn in California. He said that he was unsure if he would ever return and said his farewell to the group. Considering his return, we can expect to see Elroy return for some reason or another. Maybe he just can't let Greendale go. This is a sentiment many fans share as well.
