Disney’s ‘Night at the Museum’ Reboot Already Branded a Huge Mistake by Fans

The Ben Stiller-led adventure comedy franchise is getting a reboot at Disney, but fans think there’s no way for Night at the Museum to have success if this actor doesn’t return — and he won’t.
It’s the world of remakes and we live in it, but sometimes things about it are just becoming too much.
Despite many fans being long vocal about the lack of need for all that reimagining of the old cult classic movies, Ben Stiller’s fantasy comedy franchise Night at the Museum is now closer than ever to receiving its own remake sometime soon.
The news comes roughly a decade after the series’ last movie, Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb, was released, and seems to be reassuring that there will be a different story to tell.
However, fans are convinced the future movie will definitely lack the original franchise’s essential detail.
‘Night at the Museum’ Reboot Won’t Be the Same Without Robin Williams, Fans Say
Even though the potential reboot might not be an actual complete remake of the original franchise, Night at the Museum’s fans would rather leave it all alone just to honor Robin Williams’ memory.
Regarded as one of the greatest comedians of all time, the actor passed away at the age of 63 in 2014, several months before Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb premiered worldwide.
“Not gonna be the same without Ben and Robin”, AlmightyLoaf54 admitted in a comment under the news in a thread.
“What else can you really do here? Also Ben and Robin's chemistry was another highlight of the previous films as well as other supporting cast members like Steve Coogan and Owen Wilson”, Robsonmonkey added.
“Hard pass for me. The original was cast perfectly and oozed Charisma”, Troyal1 chimed in.
‘Night at the Museum’ Reboot (Likely) Won’t Feature Ben Stiller Either
With many fans taking the word “remake” way too seriously, things might actually not look that bad for the Night at the Museum franchise after all.
Though nothing has been confirmed yet, the potential movie is said to be “a new story set at the museum with all-new characters”, according to Deadline’s reports.
Apart from that, the reboot will have the original series’ director Shawn Levy on board as one of the executive producers, so the movie is still likely to make some fans change their mind once it’s out with something fresh to tell.
