Doctor Who ruled British TV for 60 years, and it keeps doing that.

Sadly, some of the episodes are gone forever and we cannot possibly catch up to the whole run of the show, but those that are available to us allow us to make a tier list of all the Doctors that have graced our screens.

This list tries to be as unbiased as possible, as it takes the collective perception of various Doctors into account and doesn't focus just on a small group of individuals.

The majority of the Doctors that ended up on the bottom of the list fell victim to the reasons that were out of their control and had nothing to do with their performance. They had to deal with challenging writing that changed the tone of the show or they had to shine in the circumstances that made it quite difficult.

Being a good actor is not enough to become a good Doctor, and this list proves that. The key to capturing the audience's hearts, especially for the newer Doctors, is to build upon whatever has already been done yet bring something uniquely quirky to this specific rendition. The marriage of old and new.
