"Win at any cost". It's the motto that has served the Dutton family well for over 150 years. The Duttons have utilized the message to protect their property from outsiders whether through force and violence, or law and politics.

Now, however, the Duttons may have finally met their match in season five of Yellowstone .

The new season has debuted to a sizzling start even if audiences are divided over the first couple of episodes.

While the loss of Monica Dutton's second child was heartbreaking and provoked much of the debate; season five has revealed other shocking revelations. Among them, the arrival of Sarah Atwood (Dawn Olivieri) and Sheriff Bill Ramsey (Rob Kirkland).

Sarah Atwood, in particular, stands out among audiences. The new character factors to be a major thorn in the side of Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) – one of the least popular of the Yellowstone characters – as well as the primary antagonist in season five. What's more, Atwood has the potential to take down the entire Dutton dynasty with Market Equities.

The sexy yet dangerous character features many of the same qualities as her archnemesis – Beth. She has the same ideals and motivations, even their characteristics are similar. Atwood has already demonstrated a reputation for being cutthroat. She's clearly power-hungry yet loyal to those she serves, namely Caroline Warner (Jackie Weaver). Fans may hate her already, but Atwood is not going anywhere.

It Seems Like Yellowstone is Dead Set On Making Monica Suffer

For that, one could argue that Beth Dutton and Sarah Atwood are merely the other side of the same coin. After all, the two female characters know how to command a conference room as well as seduce men. Even the introduction to Atwood in S5 of Yellowstone seems comparable to the method Beth manipulates men over a drink at the bar.

These qualities make the characters both beloved and despised by viewers, depending on your personal preference. For example, the "Don't Make Me Go Beth Dutton on You" t-shirts reveal that some celebrate a woman that isn't afraid to speak her mind. Be that as it may, the amount of hate and frustration voiced on threads like Reddit indicates that not everyone is a fan of dominant, malicious, brutally honest females. Some even argue it misrepresents what it takes to be a "strong woman".

Despite it, Sarah Atwood is a character that will play a pivotal role in S5 of Yellowstone. There are many that speculate she's the best source for finally taking down the Duttons along with new law and order being established by Sheriff Ramsey. As such, justice may be finally coming for John, Beth, Jamie, and Rip. Accordingly, you may hate Sarah Atwood already, but the Duttons may have finally met their match in season five.
