Eddie Murphy Confirms He’s Playing Inspector Clouseau in New 'Pink Panther' Film: What We Know About It

The Pink Panther reboot that has everyone talking.
I couldn’t believe my ears when I heard Eddie Murphy casually mention he’s set to play Inspector Clouseau in a new Pink Panther film for Amazon and MGM. During an interview with Al Roker, Murphy blurted out:
“I’m Inspector Clouseau in the next Pink Panther,” sandwiched between talk of a George Clinton biopic and Shrek 5.
Murphy then doubled down, teasing that Clouseau might not be quite so French this time:
“Maybe… he could also be Haitian. I will tell you, he’s Black. He’s Black, for sure.”
It’s a bold choice, especially considering the 2006 reboot with Steve Martin. Yet, here we are again, with Murphy eyeing the role — a project he’s apparently been passionate about for years, dating back to the early 2000s when he was originally supposed to take on the part.
Jeff Fowler, director of Sonic the Hedgehog, is attached to helm this reboot. Honestly, I’m curious but also wary — can Murphy bring the magic back? Either way, it’s fascinating to see how Clouseau keeps rising from the dead.
