She doesn’t need no man!

While many viewers have only joined Elsbeth as a standalone show on CBS this year, there are some fans who still remember her quirky personality from The Good Wife and The Good Fight. And since these fans know a little more of Elsbeth's story than the rest, they are already planning to see more of her personal life behind all the cases.

However, there is no guarantee that the second season of the show will give viewers what they want. In fact, Carrie Preston, who has portrayed Elsbeth for more than a decade, isn't rushing to see her character in a relationship for now.

Who Is Elsbeth’s Husband?

As previously established by The Good Wife franchise, Elsbeth has an ex-husband and a son. Her husband, Mike Tascioni, portrayed by Will Patton, even made several appearances on the show and was notable for his peculiar personality that matched Elsbeth's own.

Some fans believed that the character-centric spinoff for Elsbeth could help the couple make amends and find a way back to each other. Another part of the audience longs for a new, exciting romance and all the possibilities it could bring. Carrie Preston, however, doesn't want to change a single thing. Here's what the actress told TVLine:

“She’s single, and that’s wonderful about the show. She’s come to New York from Chicago, reinventing herself in some ways, so I think it’s great she’s not attached to anyone except her self and her career, her son…. It will be interesting to see if we ever see a love interest for her, because she’s very busy — and happily so!”

Of course, no one can say for sure what the writers have in mind, but it doesn't seem like Elsbeth is struggling without a romantic partner by her side. While it would have been fun to see her let loose and have some fun while she's free in a new city, it looks like work will remain her first priority for quite some time.

However, fans of the show should beware of upcoming changes. While the second season of the latest CBS hit promises to continue in the same direction, the actress has already teased some twists and turns coming our way, so you better be prepared for whatever may happen next.

If you're hooked and can't wait for season 2, be sure to keep an eye out for news and behind-the-scenes updates! In the meantime, you can always re-watch the first season on Paramount Plus.
