Okay, woah, chill, it's just an animated squirrel with an acorn. Absolutely no tears here. Where do you even see tears?

We all remember Scrat the sabre-toothed squirrel from the 'Ice Age' cartoons and his endless drama with an acorn he was struggling to get and preserve. Well, now that Blue Sky Animation Studios is shutting down, it seems there is nothing left to preserve anymore… so maybe it's time to enjoy that acorn and head to whatever the future holds.

That's why Scrat finally ate his acorn in a farewell nod from the Blue Sky animators.

"In the final days of Blue Sky Studios, a small team of artists came together to do one final shot. This shot is a farewell, a send-off on our own terms," the team said before disassembling.

And that's why every person on the Internet who has a heart is tearing up. Even though not everyone would admit it.

Some people looked back, remembering good old days when Scrat was ready to weather any storm and brave any obstacles in order to get. That. Acorn.

He got it. No tricks, no last-second cliffhangers, no rocks falling on him a moment before he was about to nibble on the acorn. He just got it. And it is as bittersweet as it is freeing – at least we know that this character's story is completed before the animation team waves goodbye.

Blue Sky studio was shut down after Disney bought Fox and decided there were too many animation studios. We know and love Blue Sky not only for Ice Age movies, but also for 'Rio', 'Robots' and 'Spies in Disguise'.
