Every Death in ‘Squid Game’ Season 3, Ranked by Impact

As expected, Netflix’s massive hit has ended on a pretty disheartening note, ending things with some of the most beloved characters in the entire series. Here’s every game player that died in Squid Game’s finale.
Hwang Dong-hyuk might be a fan of happy endings as well, but his Squid Game was never meant to have one — and the final third season does confirm so.
The show’s last instalment dropped on Netflix on Friday, June 27, offering its fans a definite end of things out there at the games where there were few survivors after all.
It’s fair to say all three of Squid Game’s seasons had quite a high tension to deal with, but the third instalment arrived with much higher stakes, eventually killing off most of the essential characters.
In case it’s been way too hard to follow the course of events, here’s every character that had to die in Squid Game’s last episode.
10. Dae-ho (Player 388)
Dae-ho dies in the first round of the third season’s contest when the participants are instructed to kill each other.
9. The Shaman (Player 044)
The Shaman also becomes a victim during the first round.
8. Nam-gyu (Player 124)
Nam-gyu dies in the game’s second round.
7. Min-su (Player 125)
Min-su is the first to die in the game’s third round which takes place atop towering structures.
6. Myung-gi (Player 333)
After a fight with Gi-hun, Myung-gi falls off the structure and dies.
5. Yong-sik (Player 007)
Yong-sik dies during the first round.
4. Geum-ja (Player 149)
Geum-ja dies by suicide after her son Yong-sik is killed in the first round.
3. Hyun-ju (Player 120)
Hyun-ju dies during the first round of the contest.
2. Jun-Hee (Player 222)
Jun-Hee also dies during the second round; however, before that she gives birth, and the game’s organisers pronounce her baby the new Player 222.
-
Gi-hun (Player 456)
With no other options to choose from, Gi-hun sacrifices himself and thus allows Baby 222 to win the games.
Will There Be ‘Squid Game’ Season 4?
There are definitely no plans for the show’s next instalment, but Squid Game’s director Hwang Dong-hyuk has recently reflected on a possibility for a spinoff, despite previously stating that he wishes to be done with Squid Game once and for all.
It’s not yet clear whether a spinoff movie or series will in fact happen, but it is unlikely to arrive on Netflix in the next several years.
