One more to the list of remakes, thanks to Dwayne Johnson.

The live-action movies seem to have become the most popular thing in today's cinematography. Every second longtime famous Disney cartoon turns into a remake. And the path of success of these movies is quite similar.

First of all, the fans of the original film all with one voice claim that they are devastated by the news and that the producers should leave the originals alone and not butcher them.

Then the second phase is denial of the casting choices that are made. Like it was with The Little Mermaid new movie.

From the moment the fans found out that the black actress was going to play the role of Ariel, there was nothing but negativity in every social media related to the project.

But despite all that, the difficult journey of a live-action remake has to end in (ideally) a huge success . The Little Mermaid, so much hated for almost everything at the beginning, is a box office hit, earning $422,042,504 worldwide.

So when the news of the Moana remake came out in April of this year, fans of the 2016 film were naturally a little concerned.

But Dwayne Johnson, one of the executive producers and actually the one to play Maui (as he did in the original movie) tried to calm them down by saying that this project is much more to him than just a movie, and he honored the original movie and the history behind it.

As predicted, there were a lot of comments like "no, god, please, no," but with that came a lot of excitement for the new movie.

Many Moana fans actually can't wait to see how they recreate Taffiti in real life, as well as all the magic and adventures.

The new movie will hit the big screens on June 27, 2025. Besides, the main star of the original Moana, Auliʻi Cravalho, is also going to be the part of the new film, but as an executive producer.

Frankly, we are also curious to see how the remake will come out. It's obvious that Johnson has put a lot of effort and love into his new project.

And when something is made with love, it usually turns out great.
