The summer of 2026 is shaping up to be a warm one, thanks to the return of television's chief optimist.

When the third season of Ted Lasso concluded in 2023, it seemed the story of the world's kindest coach had reached a perfect ending.

Ted had revived AFC Richmond, helped each of his players improve and returned to the US to be with his family. Two years later, the show's creators decided it was too early to end the series.

In March 2025, Jason Sudeikis officially confirmed that the series had been renewed for a fourth season. Here's more information about the new chapter and what we know so far.

The fourth season of Ted Lasso will premiere on Apple TV+ in the summer of 2026 – the exact date has not yet been announced. The series remains the platform's flagship project despite being overtaken in popularity by Severance in February 2025.

The format of the new episodes will likely remain unchanged – the first three seasons consisted of 10-12 episodes with a standard runtime of 40 minutes.

What Will 'Ted Lasso' Season 4 Be About?

Although plot details are still under wraps, the general outline has been revealed. The action begins in Kansas, Ted's hometown. However, after the first episode, Lasso must return to the UK.

This time, he'll be working with a women's soccer team, which is an unexpected turn for the coach who has become a legend with the Richmond men's team over the past three seasons.

The upcoming chapter will likely resume the storylines that were put on hold at the end of the 2023 season. Fans particularly hope to see the continuation of the relationship between Keeley and Roy, who decided to take a break at the end of Season 3.

Who Is in the Cast of 'Ted Lasso' Season 4?

Juno Temple will reprise her role as Keeley, and Brendan Hunt, who plays Ted's best friend Coach Willis Beard, is also back.

Instead, the show will feature new faces: Tanya Reynolds, Jude Mack, Faye Marsay, Aisling Sharkey, and Abby Hearn will play undisclosed roles.
