Everything You Need to Remember Before Watching 'Silo' Season 3: Recap
It seems that the third season will finally reveal all the secrets behind the bunkers' origin.
On July 3, Apple TV+ will release the third season of Silo, one of the streaming service's major sci-fi hits.
To help you keep track of the labyrinth of underground tunnels and myriad mysteries, we are recapping the timeline of events from the first two seasons.
What Happened in 'Silo' Season 1?

The story begins with Sheriff Holston Becker. His wife, Allison, who works in the IT department, doubts the outside world's visual feed and decides to verify it by going outside – she dies just moments after wiping the camera lens.
Soon, George Wilkins' body is found in the bunker. George was an IT specialist and the partner of engineer Juliette Nichols. Convinced that it was murder rather than an accident, Juliette begins an investigation with Holston.
A year later, Holston unexpectedly requests to go outside himself and names Juliette as his successor. This appointment disrupts the status quo among the elite. Robert Sims, the head of the Judicial Department, had planned to install his own man as sheriff. Meanwhile, Bernard Holland, the head of IT, views Juliette with suspicion.
Juliette digs deeper and becomes convinced that the Judicial Department is falsifying data and surveilling everyone. With the help of her old friend and fellow engineer, Martha Walker, Juliette learns about the Flamekeepers, a secret society dedicated to preserving the memory of the past.
When Juliette is captured, Bernard offers her a deal: she will go outside but he tells her the truth about George. Once outside, Juliette sees greenery and a blue sky. Then, the image on her visor shifts to reveal a scorched wasteland.
The "green" view was actually a video feed embedded in the visor – a final gift to the dying. Juliette also sees that the bunkers stretch all the way to the horizon.
What Happened in 'Silo' Season 2?

The second season opens with a flashback to the uprising in Silo 17, which occurred about 140 years earlier. In the present day, Juliette enters the abandoned silo and stumbles upon Solo, who has been living in the storage vault since the time of the rebellion. Together, they search for the equipment Juliette needs to return home.
Back in her home silo, Bernard realizes that Juliette's refusal to clean the camera lens could spark an uprising. The Mechanical Department doesn't trust the mayor and is preparing to revolt in support of Juliette.
Bernard asks Lukas, an IT specialist, to decrypt letters written by Salvador Quinn, the head of IT during the earlier rebellion. He also reveals to Lukas that there are 51 silos in total, including a central one that monitors the others and has the authority to implement drastic measures.
Lukas decrypts the letters and finds a door at the bottom of the silo. An AI voice known as Algorithm greets him. The voice warns Lukas that if he tells anyone what he has seen, the Safeguard will be triggered – a poison capable of killing all the inhabitants.
Juliette returns to her home silo and confronts Bernard. At that moment, the airlock's fiery decontamination sequence is activated.
The season concludes with an unexpected flashback set in Washington, where a journalist named Helen questions a congressman about a US retaliatory strike following the suspected detonation of a dirty bomb.
