Fans Are Already Tired of Waiting for ‘Stranger Things’ Lynchian Spinoff

Netflix’s hit sci-fi show will likely turn into a whole new franchise, but some fans aren’t really sure they’ll live to see the intriguing spinoff.
Netflix’s Stranger Things is wrapping its story this year after almost a decade on the screens, but it might be early to talk about the show’s definite ending yet.
Ever since the series’ first season premiered back in 2016, it was clear that Netflix would be doing its best to push some related projects forward, be that a sequel, a prequel or any kind of spinoff show.
Now that Stranger Things is months away from closing its final chapter, the chance of it becoming a franchise just got bigger after one of the leads Finn Wolfhard’s revelations.
However, the annoying trend that might have actually been started by Stranger Things is what makes the show’s fans not so enthusiastic about the whole thing.
Finn Wolfhard Teases ‘Stranger Things’ Spinoff With ‘Twin Peaks’ Vibe
Even though details about the possible future spinoff series have been under wraps so far, Wolfhard, who plays Mike Wheeler in the original series, seemingly proved himself just as intelligent as his character while taking a guess about what the spinoff will be like.
“Like David Lynch’s ‘Twin Peaks.’ Sort of an anthology and different tones but similar universe or same universe. I think set in different places and all tied together through this mythology of the Upside Down”, the actor recently said in an interview with Variety.
He also added that the possible spinoff will have nothing to do with Stranger Things’ storyline and characters whatsoever, and the show’s creators have already prepared a bunch of options in case Netflix would want at least one of them.
“I’m sure they do, and I’m sure it will happen, but there’s nothing official. I think the coolest way, the way that I would do it, there has to be labs everywhere. If there was one in Hawkins, there’s one in Russia. Where else could they be?” Wolfhard revealed.
‘Stranger Things’ Fans Aren’t Sure They Want a Spinoff by 2050
As the original show has constantly proved throughout the years, there’s no way Stranger Things’ new season can arrive sooner than at least two or three years since the previous one’s release.
The same, apparently, will apply to a potential spinoff which might be pushed into production in a couple of years after the upcoming fifth season’s premiere, if not later.
“Spin off? And having to wait 4 years for each season? F—k off, I just want this to end before I’m a senior citizen”, Redditor niktrop0000 complained in a thread.
“Spin-off? When? 2050?” Inaword_Slob wondered sarcastically.
“Not surprised at the Spin Off talks. Stranger Things really feels like the last big active franchise Netflix has so it is probably easier trying to milk the cash cow than come up with something new”, easyasdan chimed in.
Stranger Things’ season 5 will arrive on Netflix in three parts released on November 26, December 25 and December 31 respectively.
