Now that the iconic Superman actor is back, fans seem to want other iconic figures to return as well.

It would seem that the DC fans' longtime dream has come true: after a triumphant return in Black Adam 's post-credit scene, Henry Cavill 's Superman is aiming for a full-scale comeback in yet another solo movie.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the movie is currently at the very early stages, and little is known about it — ambiguity that allows fans to speculate and even demand.

One such demand emerged pretty quickly on social media, with DC stans rallying for Zack Snyder to come back to direct the upcoming Superman movie — or else some fans threaten to boycott the movie.

Those who are less categorical simply argue that Snyder's leadership was the best for both the actor and the character.

"The best version of Henry Cavill as Superman is when he's directed by Zack Snyder. He does not have the range as an actor to play him any other way successfully. I would like to see the best version of his Superman again with Zack," said Twitter user Signs2323.

According to Snyder fans, the DC universe owes them quite a lot.

"Superman/Cavill is back because Snyder fans persisted & never let the conversation die. The old leadership at WB were all fired because Snyder fans helped expose their terrible leadership and behavior," Twitter user JonnJonzz65 argued.

However, other people took issue with the way Superman fans, who previously simply wanted their favorite superhero to come back, now give conditions and threaten DC with boycott in case the studio does not meet them.

"It appears that the majority of this fan group never really cared about Henry Cavill or Superman? They have problems with Superman wearing his classic costume and only want Zack Snyder to manage these characters? What's wrong with simply enjoying DC movies without being toxic?" Twitter user FlashMovieLeaks wondered.

The Snyder buzz continues on social media amid big changes in DC — yep, they just keep coming — as the studio appears to be in what was described by one insider as a "leadership vacuum". Other insiders told The Hollywood Reporter that the studio is simply moving forward on several fronts when referring to how Cavill's return was announced at the same time with a secret project by Matt Reeves and new DC aspirations from James Gunn.

The current turmoil might as well be a new hope for DC, with Dwayne Johnson-led Black Adam touted as the cinematic universe's "revival", even though it is yet to premiere on big screens for everybody on October 21.
