Fantastic Four Teaser Finally Dropped: Fans' First Reactions Couldn’t Possibly Be Better

The MCU is back, people.
If you thought the golden age of the MCU is long gone, the new teaser for Fantastic Four might just change your mind.
On Tuesday, February 4, Marvel finally dropped the first footage for The Fantastic Four: First Steps.
The minute-and-a-half-long clip only needed around half an hour to garner over 1 million views on YouTube.
Set in retro-futuristic 1960s Manhattan, the movie appears to be taking us back into the Silver Age. According to Kevin Feige, we are to expect an actual period piece: this is not the Avengers-era New York, but something that looks and feels completely different.
With Pedro Pascal as Mr. Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as the Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (“The Bear ”) as the Thing, MCU fans feel hopeful for the first time in many years. We can also see a sneak peak at the main villain, Galactus, portrayed by Ralph Ineson; besides, the cast also has Julia Garner as gender-swapped Silver Surfer, as well as Paul Walter Hauser, Natasha Lyonne, and John Malkovich.
The first teaser has fans exhilarated (even though the studio did massively troll fans with an hour-long reset video only to confuse everyone with the actual timing of the release).
After all, Marvel fans have waited for an MCU movie about Fantastic Four ever since Iron Man premiered back in 2008. It has literally been almost 20 years — and, thankfully, the upcoming movie looks more than promising. Moreover: it truly does feel like those old mid-2000s Marvel movies.
Don’t Worry, Even OG Fans Agree That New Fantastic Four Really Is Good
The first thing the fans said was that they are waiting for the movie to come out only to take their parents to theatres. It seems that for many fans of the franchise, Fantastic Four was the first comic ever they were introduced to. So checking out the movie about the F4 family together would be some sort of history appreciation.
Frankly, there's a lot for OG fans to be happy about in this new movie: it seems that the creators took into account almost everything they've been asking for for years. After all, even the trailer was full of characters and events expected so much.
“I have to admit, the trailer gave me a really strong sense of nostalgia. There's something about the color grading and overall aesthetic that felt reminiscent of the golden age of superhero films. It’s hard to put into words, but there’s a warmth to it that feels like a throwback to something classic. I felt an undeniable sense of heroism, like the essence of what makes these characters truly iconic. This might be the film that finally brings the superhero genre back to its roots,” user thegreatmaester said on Youtube.
Fans were specifically amazed by the music in the movie, scored by Michael Giacchino, famous for his works in Up and Lost.
“Many times we talk about actors who were born to play a character, but can we start talking about composers who were born to play their Score? Michael Giacchino with the Fantastic Four feels... perfect,” said YouTube user cristobaltaiba5031.
Looks like everything fans were curios about, the new Fantastic Four teaser has. The Thing’s look has been immediately revealed – and, according to fans, he looks just perfect, and even sounds perfect (have you heard those rocky sounds when he moves?).
“I love how much they made the thing’s face look like Jack Kirby’s illustrations,” noted YouTube user TVsttic.
The main emotion fans felt from The Fantastic Four: First Steps teaser was the sense of excitement — and this one has been pretty rare in the MCU recently. Are we seriously heading into a new era where Marvel movies are cool and exciting again?
The Fantastic Four: First Steps premieres in theaters on July 25, 2025.
