Giving up on the huge cinematic company has become quite a trend.

Summary:

  • Amidst many actors’ complaints and critics of the Marvel movies, one more actor has also confirmed that he wouldn’t strive for a role in the MCU for the same reasons.
  • Finn Wolfhard, who rose to prominence thanks to his role in Netflix ’s Stranger Things, also says he doesn’t think his appearance could potentially save one of the Marvel’s franchises from failing.
  • Despite numerous allegations, Marvel is nonetheless going strong in its ambitions, but there’s a slight hope that its producers will accept the constructive criticism.

It seems like Kristen Stewart has one more fellow actor on her team. As the actress has recently revealed that she would never star in any Marvel movie calling them all a “f-ing nightmare” and would make an exception only for acclaimed filmmakers like Greta Gerwig, she’s not the only one to think so.

Thus, just after Kristen’s statement one more actor expressed the same idea of staying away from the MCU’s world.

While talking to Vanity Fair about his brand new film Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, one of the movie’s stars Finn Wolfhard admitted that he doesn’t find a possibility of joining one of Marvel's projects appealing for his developing career.

Despite the seemingly excellent prospects for the career boost and a salary that usually comes in a six-zero amount, the actor still finds the company’s blockbusters “mid” and thus a dubious pursuit.

And Wolfhard seems to be very determined in this matter — even when asked if he could potentially save one of Marvel's franchises by appearing there, the actor also gave a negative response.

He also mentioned that he’s glad about Stranger Things coming to its end with the upcoming fifth season so he will finally be able to choose some other cinematic perspective — but definitely not a superhero one.

Kristen Stewart and Finn Wolfhard are not the only ones who have recently slammed Marvel for lack of quality and artistic diversity. Anthony Mackie, the MCU’s veteran who portrayed Samuel Wilson in the films about Captain America, lamented that the company’s creators would invariably stick to their own (and now often failing) artistic choices instead of paying attention to the actors’ opinion as well.

Another example is Normal People’s star Paul Mescal — he admitted that Marvel roles are not what he would like to do as he probably would lack the patience that the MCU’s actors are usually required to have while working with the cinematic giant.

Though it stays clear that even with allegations like this Marvel isn’t leaving the cinema world anytime soon — but the producers might still reconsider their policy and finally listen to their representatives on the screen.
