Forget Daredevil: Born Again, Highest-Rated Marvel Show Is This Masterpiece With 99% on RT

The new show starring Charlie Cox is being hailed by many as Marvel's triumph and its best project in years, but let's not forget last year's animated project that restored fans' faith in the studio.
Daredevil: Born Again premiered on Disney+ – some have called it a triumphant return for Marvel, on par with the Netflix original. The show currently holds an 87% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Many appreciated the darker tone and violence not typical of MCU projects. Born Again cleverly expanded on everything that was loved about the original, and the combination of superhero storytelling and legal drama remains a winning formula.
However, Marvel's real triumphant return came last year with the release of the series that received the highest rating of any of the studio's projects, 99% on Rotten Tomatoes – X-Men '97.
What Is X-Men '97 About?
Professor Charles Xavier is killed by the villain Henry Gyrich, and Cyclops and Jean, the new leaders of the mutant school, cannot handle the stress of expecting a child. They also consider leaving the superhero business altogether to devote themselves to a quiet family life.
But the X-Men are facing serious challenges: uncertainties with new team member Roberto, and threats from giant robots created by Bolivar Trask.
And there is also the sudden appearance of Magneto, who will play a very ambiguous role in the life of the team, because he is mentioned in the will of the late Professor X.
X-Men '97 Takes Viewers Straight Back to the '90s
X-Men '97 takes viewers back to the cozy aesthetics of the '90s. Some will find the long-awaited magic of childhood as they hear the familiar music in the intro, while others will be able to connect with the X-Men through a new medium, not just the movie franchise and numerous comic books.
This is concentrated retro, capturing the magic of the '90s frame by frame, but with its own twists that capture the spirit of our time.
X-Men '97 Features the Highest Quality Animation in the Style of the Original Series
Marvel Studios Animation had already mastered computer graphics when it released the anthology series What If?, but X-Men: The Animated Series was created in the days of 2D animation.
The animators had a difficult task: to use modern technology to recreate the look of the old series in a way that would satisfy the fans – and the result looks amazing.
Even the intro can be confusing: has everything been reworked from scratch, or did some parts of the legendary opening of the old series make it into the new one? Don't be fooled: the animators re-created almost all the scenes, with a few adjustments.
X-Men '97 Is the Best Marvel Project Right Now
X-Men '97 is a great continuation of the show from 30 years ago and one of the best Marvel projects in general.
The animated series tells new and more adult stories with old characters, bringing enjoyment to both young viewers and seasoned fans who grew up with the original show.
