From Superman to Swordsman: Henry Cavill’s Next Epic Role Is Taking All His Focus — Let’s Hope It Pays Off

Training swords, immortality, and legacy — Cavill’s all in this time.
I love a good comeback story — and Henry Cavill might just be stepping into the most iconic one yet. While everyone’s buzzing about Warhammer, it’s Highlander that has all of his focus. And honestly? That’s the one I’m more excited for too.
In a recent interview with the HR, Cavill said, "Highlander! That is taking all of my focus. It’s a project that I’m extremely excited about."
And you can tell he means it. He’s been attached to this reboot since 2021, but now it finally feels real. Production is gearing up, the cast is expanding, and Cavill’s stepping into the boots of Connor MacLeod — the immortal swordsman originally played by Christopher Lambert.
I love that he’s teaming up with Chad Stahelski (John Wick fans, you know), and that he’s fully immersed in the swordplay, the lore, the legacy. The idea of Russell Crowe as Ramirez and Marisa Abela as a new character tied to MacLeod only makes the dynamic richer.
There’s something poetic about Cavill — long labelled as the almost-but-not-quite Superman — now pouring everything into a role about fighting for identity and survival across centuries. If anyone deserves a second immortal life on screen, it’s him.
