With her status in the DCU still unclear, the actress is eager to pursue her career elsewhere.

As the "old" DCU draws to a close, the fate of many characters remains up in the air, despite the fact that The Flash was supposed to prepare the cinematic universe for its next step.

However, the latest blockbuster failed to provide a definitive answer, as at least two DCU characters may remain the same under James Gunn.

Aquaman, still played by Jason Momoa, appeared in a post-credits scene, and considering that it takes place after Barry rewrites the timeline and his upcoming second solo movie, he might just avoid being recast.

Speaking of Aquaman 2, one of the Shazam! 2 actors already spoiled the appearance of Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman in the sequel, so her status remains unclear as well.

Regardless, Gadot doesn't really seem to be bothered by this uncertainty, even after her third DCU solo film was scrapped, as the actress recently stated in an interview with Total Film that she feels "empowered" by the fact that she has other projects to appear in and that working is what "keeps her alive."

Gadot described her current career situation as a "chapter," but she is passionate about moving forward and doing both her own projects and continuing to appear in other films as an "actress-for-hire."

Fans say it's not like Gal has a choice with the DCU on the verge of a total reboot, with some joking that they thought she was happy to only appear in movies for about 30 seconds, referring to her recent cameos in Shazam! Fury of the Gods, Fast X, and The Flash.

Others leave rather sour comments, claiming that Gadot is not exactly a great actress and that it might be best for her to step away from the new DCU.

Gal Gadot's next movie will be the spy action thriller Heart of Stone, which will premiere on Netflix on August 11, 2023.

As for what could be her final appearance as Wonder Woman (which may end up being just a rumor), Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is scheduled to premiere on December 20, 2023.
