Has to do with Broadway, though.

Summary:

  • Glee was an iconic Fox television show created by Ryan Murphy. The show followed the lives of the members of the high school choir New Directions.
  • Rachel Berry, portrayed by Lea Michele, was the show's main character who aspired to end up on Broadway.
  • Many Glee fans consider her to be the most obnoxious character on television to date.

If you have seen at least one episode of Glee, you must remember Rachel Berry.

There wasn't a single episode of the show where she wasn't annoying in some way, so it wouldn't be hard to memorize her mannerisms. Loud, opinionated, slightly arrogant, yet extremely talented, Rachel struggled to make friends, and it's not hard to see why.

While pretty much everyone would agree on how obnoxious and annoying she can be at times, it's also only fair to give her credit for getting straight to the point with whatever path she wants to take. Her career goals have been outlined since she was a child, and one of the big words in bold that was certainly underlined several times in all of her diaries was "Broadway."

Unfortunately, as the show moved from Lima, Ohio to New York, the audience had to experience the sour taste of reality as well as Rachel Berry. The real entertainment industry turned out to be harsh and cruel and, for some reason, required a little more dedication than high school choir.

However, the one thing that remained unchanged in Rachel Berry's demeanor was her love of bursting into a Broadway hit...even in the worst of times.

Glee’s Turkey Lurkey Cringe Time

There is nothing like a fashionable, fun party with Sarah Jessica Parker in your New York loft apartment, right? Well, Kurt Hummel was definitely having a good time, enjoying the company he has wanted to be in since the first year of bullying at his school. But it would not be Glee if he got what he wanted for once.

The mid-party performance of Let's Have a Kiki, originally sung by the Scissor Sisters, was ruined by Rachel Berry, who decided that not a single day could go by in their shared apartment without her bursting into a Broadway show. She inserted herself into the performance with Promises, Promises' hit Turkey Lurkey Time, making it the most cringy mashup of the whole show.

Of course, the moment wasn't malicious and was taken lightly, considering Rachel and her then-boyfriend Brody were theater students at NYADA. Still, this performance perfectly illustrates what happens to Rachel Berry when she and her talent are left unattended for more than a full minute.

Luckily for all of us, Lea Michele's beautiful voice was a good enough excuse to deal with all sorts of Rachel Berry's annoying behavior. If you haven't watched Glee in a while and are feeling nostalgic, you can always stream your favorite episodes on Hulu.
