Yeah yeah we know, enough with the coffee theory. Sh-h. Hear us out.

Let's face it: Good Omens season 2 finale has scarred us good, and fan theories, no matter how outrageous or ridiculous, serve as the best coping mechanism. Fans of Crowley and Aziraphale have been mastering the skill of coping with reality for years, and the heartbreaking season finale is yet another reason to unleash the power of those theories.

The most controversial (and debate-provoking) theory in the fandom is currently known as "the coffee theory." Most likely, you know what it's about, but let us quickly brief you in case you don't.

The final episode of Good Omens season 2 had Crowley finally confessing his feelings to Aziraphale (and the latter very much reciprocating), but there was no happy ending for the two, as Aziraphale suddenly decided to take up a job offer from Metatron and become the next Supreme Archangel.

Many fans refuse to believe that this was a conscious, self-aware move by Aziraphale. Instead, they are convinced Metatron tricked him into accepting the job; most likely, by adding something into the coffee the two shared prior.

A certain part of the fandom believes the theory to be too much of a stretch; in fact, it does look like something fans would invent just to help themselves process the painful finale, but one fan came up with what appears to be too convincing for our comfort.

Remember when Metatron got curious after he saw the name of the coffee shop, Give Me Coffee Or Give Me Death?

"It’s oddly emphasized within the last few minutes of the show, too. they take time away from the ongoing plot to have Metatron ask Nina, “has anyone ever asked for death?” and he practically forces the coffee onto Aziraphale; pick the coffee or else," Tumblr user tears-in-my-tardis noted.

And we can't help but agree. This hint has been dropped too many times; and maybe Crowley will be the last person to try and save Aziraphale from whatever sneaky plan Metatron has in mind.

Seriously, that name of the coffee shop cannot just be there for laughs. If only the wait for Good Omens season 3 wasn't as excruciating and uncertain, because yes, we still don't know for sure if chapter three is even happening.
