Guy Ritchie is back on track with a new hot drop the audience loves to love!

Summary:

  • Guy Ritchie ’s The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare follows an OG Black Ops squad sent to Germany in World War II.
  • The movie starring Henry Cavill and Eiza González underwhelmingly opened up to a $9M first weekend domestically.
  • Despite that, The Ministry’s reviews are very positive, and it already dethroned Zack Snyder’s Justice League as Henry Cavill’s highest-rated film.

If there’s one thing everyone can agree on about Guy Ritchie, then it’s that he’s got a distinct style. Now, not everyone may like this style — but it’s always there and it’s impossible to miss either way. The director knows what he’s good at and goes at it tirelessly, pumping out new movies that rarely fail to cheer up the audience… Especially those who can’t get enough of Ritchie’s humorous action-packed films.

Audience Adores Ritchie’s New Movie

The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare is the latest addition to Guy Ritchie’s theatrical collection, starring Henry Cavill, Eiza González, and many others and throwing them straight into World War II’s Germany to wreak some havoc. Following a group of the OG Black Ops agents, The Ministry takes the action to the center of the Nazis’ power to see it properly wrecked.

Viewers fell in love with The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare: on Rotten Tomatoes, the movie brags an overwhelmingly positive 94% Verified Audience Score and a 72% Tomatometer Score, with its 7.3/10 IMDb score supporting the latter claim. Despite its slow $9M domestic opening, Guy Ritchie’s latest flick is likely to attract more moviegoers by its great reviews.

The Ministry Broke Henry Cavill’s Record

Immediately after its premiere, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare broke at least one record: it became Henry Cavill’s new highest-rated movie on Rotten Tomatoes. At the time of writing, The Ministry features a similar Critic Score to Zack Snyder's Justice League, Cavill’s previous highest-rated film, but its Audience Score is higher than the DCEU flick’s 93% score.

So far, it doesn’t look like The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare will necessarily break many other records, though — especially, in terms of its box office revenue. Thanks to its limited premiere, there might be quite some time before Guy Ritchie and Henry Cavill’s second collaboration really takes off, especially on the international market; here’s to hoping that by then, people won’t lose interest in it.
