  • The latest update revealed that it’s currently in development with an iconic showrunner.
  • The upcoming TV show will follow the events of the Eisenhorn trilogy, which could become the perfect entry point into the WH40K universe for many.

The long-rumored and much-anticipated Warhammer 40K TV show has not been a myth, after all: the latest update revealed the showrunner working on it (great news) and the events the series will be covering (even better news). So far, things are looking very promising in both departments, and the WH40K fans can seemingly relax for a while.

Warhammer 40K Show Hired Frank Spotnitz

According to the new report from Deadline, Frank Spotnitz’s Big Light Productions is developing the much-anticipated Warhammer 40K series. You may know Spotnitz from The Man in the High Castle TV show as well as X-Files; this man is a great choice as he brings a lot of experience to the table, as well as an interesting vision.

As a showrunner and an executive producer, Spotnitz’s latter role will be shared by Emily Feller, who is known for Ordinary Lies and Medici, another heavy-lifter.

“Warhammer 40K is steeped in rich and complex lore, with a myriad of traditions and stories that have accumulated over time in this thrilling and complex world, making it one of the most exciting properties to adapt for television,” Spotnitz shared.

What Story Will the Warhammer 40K Show Follow?

The upcoming TV show will be based on Dan Abnett’s Eisenhorn trilogy which follows the Ordo Xenos Inquisitor Gregor Eisenhorn as he and his crew fight against alien monstrosities, supernatural forces, and other enemies of the Imperium of Man. The Eisenhorn trilogy is loved by the WH40K fans and could serve as the perfect entry into this fictional world for many newcomers.

Eisenhorn the TV show will likely only become the first project of many: if it performs well, we should await more Warhammer 40K TV shows and movies to follow. The ever-warring reality of this setting is infinitely fast and filled to the brim with dark and twisted lore, making it the perfect soil for growing further installments and stories.
