House of the Dragon Star Sides With Fans on the Show’s Most Annoying Trend
Even the show’s cast just can’t deal with it any longer.
It’s becoming a new norm for modern TV shows to take more time to deliver new seasons, but Game of Thrones ’ prequel House of the Dragon has taken it to a new level. The series keeps following a tradition of a 2-year gap between two seasons, and that probably wouldn’t be that much of a problem if the latest instalment hadn’t been met with harsh criticism from viewers.
Waiting two years for something that ends up being a total disappointment isn’t a very exciting perspective, and even one of House of the Dragon’s lead actors agrees.
Rhys Ifans Gave a Joking, Yet Frightening Update on House of the Dragon Season 3
As it turned out, the actor, who in the show portrays Otto Hightower, isn’t that much into waiting for so long either.
Speaking with ScreenRant about the upcoming third season recently, Ifans admitted that he still doesn’t know when the production is supposed to start, though he can certainly “smell the sulfur. There's something brewing.”
The actor then once again confirmed all the previous news about the next instalment saying that “they start shooting soon this year, so I'm sure you'll be able to watch it in about 25 years' time”.
Though for some fans Ifans’ joke might be triggering, that’s still satisfying to see that viewers aren't alone in this boat and even House of the Dragon’s cast members are pretty annoyed by all the time it takes for a new season to reach the screens.
Rhys Ifans Isn’t Sure About His House of the Dragon Character’s Future Either
Despite many fans’ hopes, the actor still doesn’t seem to have the vaguest idea about what the future holds for Otto Hightower. House of the Dragon’s season 2 sees Otto being expelled from the King’s Landing by his ruling grandson Aegon Targaryen; he then ends up in a prison, but there’s no saying of why he actually got there.
However, the second season made some certain hints about Otto’s potential return in the next instalment, which is also confirmed by Rhys Ifans’ official casting for the third season.
