It might be the most challenging thing any actor had to do for Marvel.

If there is one MCU character whose language is still a big mystery to both the audience and the characters within the universe itself, it is Guardians of the Galaxy's Groot.

A walking, barely talking tree voiced by none other than Vin Diesel, Groot became part of the team without being able to actually communicate with them.

However, the movie's producers were able to have fun with the three words he knows and uses.

"I am Groot " is not much, but depending on the circumstances and intonation, it can mean a variety of different things.

While Rocket really tries to figure out Groot's language and sometimes pretends to understand him, Thor seems to be more advanced in it and admits to having taken it as an elective in Asgard.

The best thing about Groot is that in many countries where Guardians of the Galaxy has been distributed, viewers can hear the original voice of Vin Diesel saying those three words in a language appropriate to that country.

In total, the actor recorded his line in 15 languages, including Hindi, Kazakh, Russian, Hungarian, and many others.

The video of Vin Diesel recording his lines in different languages and with different intonations divided fans into two groups that gathered in the comments.

While some thought it was probably the easiest paycheck the actor could collect, considering he doesn't really say much, others were impressed by his ability to switch between languages, even for just three words.

Either way, this decision by Marvel Studios was welcomed not only by the actor himself, who described the process of recording in so many languages as "very cool," but also by audiences, who got the unique experience of hearing the original voice actor instead of the native one from their country.
