Fan theory explains how Harrison Ford is going to turn red.

Many fans are expecting to finally see Red Hulk in the upcoming Captain America: Brave New World. There is evidence to believe it might happen, such as Tim Blake Nelson returning as Samuel Sterns, aka Leader. His first and last appearance was in The Incredible Hulk (2008).

Harrison Ford is set to portray General Ross, replacing the late William Hurt. And many fans are absolutely convinced he is going to become Red Hulk. But the million-dollar question is, how is that going to happen?

A Reddit user has shared a theory suggesting that the Red Hulk's creation in the MCU could be tied to the Extremis technology. Extremis was that nanotech serum from Iron Man 3 that gave people superhuman abilities.

It was forgotten for a long time, but then we caught a glimpse of Extremis being used in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings by a fighter. And just recently, it was used to enhance skrulls in Secret Invasion.

The theory suggests that instead of the Red Hulk's origin being a mix of gamma and cosmic radiation (like in the comics), the MCU might take a simpler route. The Red Hulk could be a result of an advanced version of the Extremis tech. This would explain his super strength, regenerative abilities, and the intense heat he emits, especially when he's angry.

But here's a twist: the Red Hulk might not be General Thaddeus Ross, as many fans expect. Instead, some believe it could be Betty Ross, Thaddeus' scientist daughter.

The Extremis connection isn't new; some fans have speculated about it since Civil War. With Ross's return to the MCU, many believe he might become the Red Hulk, and Extremis could be the serum that triggers the transformation.

Some even hope that The Leader, another Marvel character who is set to appear in Brave New World, might have ties to AIM (the organization behind Extremis) and play a role in the Red Hulk's story.

However, some fans are not sure we even get to see Red Hulk in this movie. According to them, people get too excited with unconfirmed theories and then get disappointed if the movie doesn’t meet their expectations.

The only way to find out is to wait, at least for a teaser trailer. Captain America: Brave New World is set to be released on July 26, 2024.
