Is 'Paddington in Peru' Just for Kids? I Was Curious Too

A bear, a backpack, and the Andes.
Paddington is back — and this time, he’s trading London rain for the lush landscapes of South America. When I first saw the title Paddington in Peru, I wondered if this third installment was still aimed just at kids… or if there might be more to it.
Turns out, the film was shot in Peru, Colombia, and the UK — including scenes filmed in the actual Amazon and Andes, adding a beautiful sense of place. Paddington's search for his beloved Aunt Lucy leads him deep into the jungle, with the Browns joining him for the ride.
The movie was released in UK cinemas on 8 November 2024 and later in the US on 14 February 2025. If you're in the UK now, you can stream it on Netflix, or rent it via Sky Store or Apple TV.
As for age: the film is rated PG, and Common Sense Media recommends it for ages 6 and up. It’s family-friendly, full of warmth, light suspense, and the kind of visual humour that still lands even if you’ve long outgrown marmalade sandwiches.
New cast members include Olivia Colman and Antonio Banderas, who bring some fresh energy to Paddington’s already charming world. And though director Dougal Wilson has taken over from Paul King, the film keeps the gentle, sincere tone that made the first two so beloved.
So is Paddington in Peru just for kids? Not really. The humour is sweet, the visuals stunning, and the heart — as always — in the right place.
