Is the latest Superman worth your ticket money? Here's what fans and critics are saying.

James Gunn's Superman is officially out in theaters, and if you're still on the fence about whether to watch it or not, we've got you covered.

What is this new ‘Superman’ about? This is the fresh start for Superman with David Corenswet as the titular character and it's all about him figuring out his place in the world.

Superman's stuck between two worlds: born on Krypton but raised in Kansas. The film tackles the eternal struggle of Clark Kent as he balances his Kryptonian origins with his Kansas upbringing.

  • On Rotten Tomatoes, Superman has 82% from critics.

Superman scored solid on RT, but reviewers have different takes. While the majority loved the movie's focus on characters, some questioned its world-building.

“Superman marks the start of a new run of DC movies after a conveyor belt of trainwrecks. And it’s a hopeful beginning. What’s best about Gunn’s movie is it’s laser-focused on relatable characters. This is no puzzle piece in a universe or a loud series of action set pieces,” Johnny Oleksinski (New York Post) wrote.

“It’s hard to make a comic book come to life at the same time as you’re trying to bring life into a comic book, just as it’s hard not to admire Gunn for trying. But it’s even harder to care if a man can fly when there isn’t any gravity to the world around him,” David Ehrlich (IndieWire) said.

  • On Rotten Tomatoes, Superman has 95% from the audience.

If critics loved Superman, fans are absolutely obsessed with this new take.

“[I] just watched it again, the 2nd watch was much better. This version embodies the comic book much more lighter and Nicholas Hoult is such a good villain, man,” Redditor BradyGronktd1287 wrote.

“[I] just saw an early screening, people who gave negative reviews are clearly either not comic book fans or not Gunn fans. [The] movie was great and [had a] very similar action/humor/tone of the guardians movies. Highly recommend,” another fan, BConder102191 on Reddit said.
