Is The OA Season 3 Happening? Jason Isaacs Revives Hope: 'We Want to Finish It'

In a new interview, Jason Isaacs shares his hope that The OA will finally get the ending it deserves – and his comments give fans hope that it's still possible after all these years. And it will give you hope for season 3, too.
Netflix 's worst decision since turning The Electric State into a faceless big-budget blockbuster? The answer is simple: canceling The OA after Season 2.
The worst part is that by the end of the second chapter, Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij already had the whole story that they were dying to tell.
Jason Isaacs Still Hopes to Finish The OA
It's been six years since the release of the second and (for now) final season of The OA, but Jason Isaacs, who played Dr. Percy, hasn't lost hope that the story will continue, and his recent statement in the interview with Decider gave viewers hope that it's still possible:
“I'm going to start weeping. I love that show so much. [...] We want to finish it and it's not like there aren't millions of people in the world who'd like to see it finished and including executives at various different streaming companies.”
The actor also stated that the support of the fans means a lot to him and that The OA is a project that has touched the hearts of the viewers in a special way.
For 6 Years, Fans Have Never Stopped Fighting for The OA
The OA has the most dedicated army of fans who, even after so many years, will not stop fighting for their favorite show. In 2019, some fans even attempted a hunger strike to demand a third season of The OA – unfortunately, their attempts came to nothing.
Fans organized entire flash mobs, posting on social media about how the show has impacted them using the hashtag #WeAreTheOA, and created petitions demanding that the show be renewed for a third season.
Jason Isaacs' comment sounds very encouraging and viewers hope that The OA will finally get its story ending. Reddit user jasno- wrote:
“I love that none of them have given up on this story. Of all the shows that have ended before their time, this is the one show I want to see more of.”
