Jaskier actor's reaction to Henry Cavill's departure from The Witcher is probably not what you expected.

With Henry Cavill suddenly departing the cast of The Witcher, Jaskier will now have Liam Hemsworth to toss a coin to.

Joey Batey, who plays Jaskier in Netflix 's The Witcher, appears to be surprisingly fine with Henry Cavill exiting the show and making way for Liam Hemsworth to replace him.

Speaking with Dexerto, Batey did not restrain himself in praising the incoming co-star.

"The strength in him and the bravery to come and join a show like this, like halfway through, is unbelievable. And I just hope that everyone knows the commitment that he's already showing to these incredibly big boots he has to fill," the actor said of Hemsworth.

Batey quickly noted that he and the entire cast will miss Cavill a lot, adding that he and the former Witcher star are "very good pals".

"We'll miss Henry an awful lot. But Liam's gonna bring something, something new and fresh and different to it," the actor continued.

However, it seems that The Witcher fandom is not so welcoming. Fans are still not over Cavill unexpectedly exiting the show, apparently in favor of his another DCEU gig as Superman.

"As soon as Henry Cavill is gone I'm not watching a single episode anymore," Twitter user Chambo_afc said.

For many fans, Cavill's portrayal of Geralt was the only thing keeping them around. Many people suggested that Batey is complimenting the incoming replacement solely because he's being paid to do it.

"Cavill left because they don't wanna stay close to the already established lore, it's been said the writers for this show don't even like The Witcher IP let alone respect it, so why would I bother watching at this point?" Twitter fan lunabunnii wondered.

Others, however, believe that Batey is simply trying to be welcoming to a new cast member.

Fans noted that Joey Batey's kind words match his nice persona. However, in order to improve the show after Henry Cavill's departure, the showrunner should take responsibility for the errors made by the writers in not following the original material, and strive to do better.

For those who are still excited to check out the new Witcher chapter no matter what, The Witcher: Blood Origin is scheduled to hit Netflix on Christmas Day this year, December 25.
