A24’s new absurdist comedy is an even more exciting future watch now.

It’s the time of the year horror fans have been anticipating for long, counting days until the Stephen King-based horror comedy The Monkey will finally hit the theatres in around a week and now getting an exciting update about another horror comedy, this time coming from A24.

The movie has a star-studded cast and features Jenna Ortega, Paul Rudd and Will Poulter as its leads, also becoming a very promising horror flick when remembered that Hereditary and Midsommar’s writer-director Ari Aster is also on board.

The future film is still more than a month away from being released, but the latest update about its newly received rating proves that it might be worth waiting after all.

Death of a Unicorn Just Got an Exciting MPA Rating

Ahead of its highly anticipated premiere at SXSW on March 8, Death of a Unicorn is now officially rated “R”, which, according to the Motion Picture Association, is attributed to movies with strong violent content, gore, language and some drug use.

Produced by A24, the movie stars Ortega and Rudd as Ridley and Elliot, a daughter and a father who, while heading to a crisis management summit with Elliot’s boss Dell Leopold and his family, run over a unicorn.

The Leopolds decide to give the dead creature to scientists, and the latter ones find out about the unicorn’s supernatural powers. As the greedy family seeks ways to exploit the creature’s abilities for their own good, the unicorn’s mate enters the scene, determined to slaughter those who killed the animal and now make an attempt to make some use of it.

The movie will premiere in theatres worldwide on March 28.
