Marvel’s actor seemingly ruled out possibilities for the show’s next season several months ago, but it might take Renner less time to reconsider his decision than we all expected.

Jeremy Renner is now seen by many as a real-life superhero, and he might be ready to become one on the screen again.

Mostly famous for his role of Clint Barton aka Hawkeye in Marvel’s movies and shows, Renner suffered a near-fatal snowmobile accident back in 2023, which forced him to step away from any kind of work for at least several years.

Since then, Renner has been going through a lengthy recovery and is now set to return as Hawkeye in Marvel’s upcoming superhero flick Avengers: Doomsday.

However, the question about the fate of Hawkeye’s season 2 is still pending, and the actor has just given an update that looks way better than the previous one.

Despite having major doubts about the show’s future just a couple of months ago, the actor now seems to be much more reassured that all the issues will be dealt with and Hawkeye’s season 2 will be pushed into production.

“I’m always happy to be in that world, man. I love all those guys, I love the character. I’m sure we’ll end up doing Season 2 [of ‘Hawkeye’], and do other things. And I’m happy to do it. My body’s getting ready for something like that. I don’t know if anybody wants to see me in tights, but my body will look good in the tights”, Renner revealed in a recent interview with Empire.

He then also suggested that his recovery is now coming to its end and he’s feeling “more than 150%” better.

It Seems Like There’s No More Salary Issue for ‘Hawkeye’ Season 2

As if there weren’t enough issues for Marvel to deal with, Renner’s earlier reflections on his potential return to Hawkeye’s role sparked a speculation about the superhero studio cutting down his salary for the second season.

Back in May, the actor revealed that Marvel had in fact had plans for a second instalment, but offered him a salary twice as less than for Hawkeye’s first season.

As Renner suggested himself, this might have been Marvel’s attempt to save on the show’s expenses by showing him that he wasn’t just as capable as before the 2023 accident.

“I’m like, ‘I’m sorry? Why? Did you think I’m only half the Jeremy because I got ran over? Maybe that’s why you want to pay me half of what I made on the first season”, Renner stated in an interview with High Performance back then.
