Just Two Marvel Superheroes Can Defeat Kang... And Both Are Women
Looks like the newest Marvel's Big Bad is even more dangerous than Thanos.
The first trailer for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania has introduced the next big villain in the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Kang the Conqueror. His is able to control and weaponize his variants from the multiverse, which basically means that every time anyone defeats him, he can reappear from an alternative dimension.
Such an enemy appears to be even more dangerous than Thanos. Even the Mad Titan was menacing enough to pose grave danger for the Avengers. There was but one superhero capable of dealing with Thanos on her own — Wanda Maximoff a.k.a. Scarlet Witch.
She is also one of the few superheroes that might be able to be a decent rival for Kang. After all, she does have plenty of experience with the multiverse, as well as chaos magic, so she might stand a chance against the new MCU villain.
But there is another superhero who might be able to defeat Kang, and she is also a woman: Carol Danvers a.k.a. Captain Marvel. When fans saw the empire that Kang the Conqueror appears to have in the Quantumania trailer, they immediately suggested that in the upcoming move Avengers: Kang Dynasty, Earth's mightiest heroes might want to call Captain Marvel to help them beat him.
Carol was of use in Endgame, when Avengers clashed with Thanos, but even she was not able to defeat him on her own. Still, her abilities allow her to face off the most dangerous enemies.
However, some fans believe that "comic book Kang would slaughter Wanda and Captain Marvel".
The MCU version, however, still remains a mystery: after all, if there is not a single superhero capable of defeating Kang, then the story would end up being rather predictable. This is why Marvel execs might not move to make Kang overly omnipotent.
It's still unclear, however, whether Wanda or Carol will be part of the upcoming Avengers movies. Avengers: Kang Dynasty is set to release in 2025, to be followed by Avengers: Secret Wars premiere in 2026.
